It’s the 19th Annual Doheny Grunion Night & it’s STILL going strong… that’s a good sign. This Saturday, May 15th Doheny State Beach is hosting their annual Doheny Grunion Night. So grab a flashlight, pack up a beach chair, & don’t forget the warm clothing and blankets. The gates open at 9pm (although if you want to arrive even earlier, you can visit the natural history exhibits), there will be a Ranger slide program at 9:45pm with Grunion discussions, demonstrations & walk after the slides. The official run could start as early as 10:30pm, but “with those pesky grunion you just never know…”

Please be aware that Grunion season is officially closed. The Doheny Grunion Night is for observational purposes only, please leave any buckets, bags or other ”collecting tools” at home.
