Everyone knows how much C & I LOVE Pretend City, but I have to admit, I think our kids LOVE it even more. That being said, their latest event is going to help you start your summer off right. The Pretend City 100 Days of Summer Kick-Off event on Tuesday, June 22nd will be filled with fun summer activities & special guests. You and your kiddos can enjoy beach volleyball, limbo contests, surfboard art design, lemonade & ice cream stands, sandcastle building, clowns, face painting & more. Not to mention, 4-time Olympic Swimming medal winner Kaitlin Sandeno and professional equestrian show jumper April Branson (accompanied by a miniature horse Baby Suko) will make special appearances.
In addition to all the fun & festivities, the kickoff event will also include the WaterWorks Parent Workshop, designed to teach parents, educators & childcare providers about water safety. This special class will take place from 5-5:30pm after the museum closes. Childcare will not be provided, so children must attend with their parents.
Ready to start your summer off with a bang? The event take place Tuesday, June 22nd. Activities for younger children will be offered from 9:30 – 11:30am. Activities for school-aged children are scheduled from 3 – 5pm. April Branson & Baby Suko will appear from 10am – 1pm. Clowns & face painting will take place form 10am – 2pm & Olympian Kaitlin Sandeno will appear from 3 – 5pm. For a compete schedule of the day’s events go HERE.

Looking forward to learning about some fun stuff thru this site. Re today’s feature, Pretend City definitely looks fun. But I have to be honest, with 5 kids age 12 and under (including a 23- and 3-month-old) it looks a bit more expensive than we can afford for a random day of play. (Super stunned to see that the bargain admission of $5 is for 1 hour and even applies to a small toddler!!) Kind of bummed to see that such fun places are sort of out of our reality. Hoping that Just Spotted has some more affordable tips for us in the future!!!
Sara – I totally hear you. But, if you REALLY want to go to Pretend City, you should defiitely check out their membership program. For $300 you can get unlimited access for up to 6 people, plus there are exclusive “member only” hours. It’s a big up-front cost, but if you really take advantage of it…. another option is the “Way to Play” Fridays. on the second Friday of every month you can use THIS coupon for 2-for-1 admissions. For TONS of Alway Free & Cheap options in the OC check out THESE posts, also check out our SUMMER TIME ACTIVITES posts, & definitely check out our CALENDAR.
