We asked our readers to nominate the very BEST preschools in Orange County, & we were overwhelmed with the response… which helped us develop our list of 12 (+1) BEST preschools in Orange County. But we weren’t satisfied with a list, we wanted to know which preschool program is hands-down, the absolutely best one around. After nearly a thousand votes, we are proud to announce we have a winner, or more specifically, several winners.
So, without further ado – The five BEST preschool programs in all of Orange County (as nominated, voted upon & ultimately decided by our readers), starting with the hands-down, absolutely best one around…

[...] BEST of OC: Preschools | Just Spotted [...]
I enrolled my son at Lakeview and he started September 1, 2010 and it has been the biggest disappointment. The school is not what we previewed last year. The director has her own son there and gears all the activites around his interest and not the the interest of the other children. I have arrived 2 mornings in the last two weeks with 2 children injured by 9 am. The playground is pathetic and instead of addressing the problems they say everything will change when they move to their new building. The only way I see an improvement is a new Director. My neighbors are glad they saw through this and placed their children at other schools. I plan on leaving immediately. Please make sure you visit often before enrolling your child here…
In response to the above comment from Tricia J:
It is very surprising that this has been your experience at Lakeview. Our family has been involved in almost every aspect of the school, including working closely with each staff member and the Director. Our experience has always been positive, our daughter thrives at the school and enjoys the curriculum provided at the school. Curriculum that is not created by the Director, but by the highly regarded NAEYC Accreditation the school has earned and maintained for 10+ years.
We are very excited about the preschool remodeling, there are plans for a brand new garden for the children, and expanded play areas. If there were concerns about the playground before, there has not been any change to date (except some sand replacement in the areas where they have recess). We love sending our daughter (and soon son!) to this preschool and agree that any parent who plans to enroll their child in a new school should visit often before enrolling.
Sincerely,
April & Pete
I agree with Tricia. You have to visit the school personally and make sure to bring your child with you. We looked at 4 preschool in our area and we found one that our son really like and fit his personality. We just moved to Orange County area but has lived in Southern California for most of our time. We found a great preschool in Fountain Valley called Hilltop Preschool. Our son loves the school and the teachers and parents that volunteers in school are so wonderful. We love the idea that parents are able to volunteer in school and treat your children as their own. We were amaze to see that my son was able to solve his own problem with another kid. We’re so happy to find such preschool exist near our home.
