Have you noticed? There’s something different in the air these days… a little bit of pixie dust. That’s right Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, Captain Hook & the Lost Boys are descending upon Orange County. Starting Tuesday, September 28th, JM Barrie’s Peter Pan will be flying across the stage (through Sunday, November 21st) outside the Orange County Performing Arts Center. Yep, yep! You read that correctly. This performance promises to be so amazing, so incredible, so magical, that they’ve actually constructed a circular, 100-foot tented theatre, outside the Orange County Performing Arts Center, especially for this production – creating “a dynamic theatrical experience and provides unique audience facilities. With over 1,200 tiered seats, the circular space is designed to heighten the buzz created by an eager audience awaiting the opening scene. The auditorium has unimpeded views for all with no more than a few rows from the stage, making this an intimate theatrical experience.”
There will be flying, probably a sword fight or two & I can pretty much guarantee (thanks to the projections screens & CGI video that surround the audience, creating the world’s first fully 360 degree projected movie for live theatre) this is an experience that you (& your kids) will be talking about for weeks. Oh! & Don’t worry, even though the theater is “outside,” that doesn’t mean you have to bring your lawn chairs & beach blankets (although, I always bring a sweater to the theater), because it is a “weatherproof outdoor event.”
JM Barrie’s Peter Pan will be at the Orange County Performing Arts Center from September 28 to November 21. Tickets start at $30 for kids and $40 for adults. A limited number of student, senior and group discounts are also available. To purchase tickets go HERE or call the box office at (714) 556.2787.
