Christmas is coming earlier this year, to the zoos that is. Help the animals celebrate the holidays, this weekend at both the Santa Ana Zoo & The OC Zoo…
The OC Zoo will hold its Christmas at the Zoo event, this Saturday, December 18th, from 10am to 3pm. The party will include visits with Santa, storytelling with Mrs. Claus, crafts and face painting.
& Of course the zoo animals will also taking part in the celebrations… Christmas trees (filled with special food treats) will be placed in their exhibits. Watch as the black bears search their trees for treats, even taking them apart or knocking them over. See the porcupine and raccoon climb their trees to hunt for interesting treats.
All activities are free with zoo admission. ($2 per person, ages 2 and under enter free. Irvine Park entry fee is $3 per car on weekdays and $5 per car on weekends.)
Both Saturday (December 18th) & Sunday (December 19th), from 6-8pm, the Santa Ana Zoo entrance and farm area will be transformed into a winter wonderland, with lighted displays, enchanting animals, seasonal music, arts and crafts tables, train rides, and storytelling. Come enjoy the festivities & help the “critters” celebrate the holidays!
Admission is $6 per person ($3 for “members”), and children ages 2 & under are FREE. But, if you are a resident of or employee of Santa Ana, or a senior, you’ll want to attend on Saturday, December 18th in order to receive FREE admission. & If you are a zoo member, I’d suggest attending on Sunday, December 19th because that’s a “member” appreciation night & FOSAZ members get in FREE.
