Just because we live in a land of beaches & palm trees, doesn’t mean we don’t have plenty of options for snow tubing in Southern California. Yep! Here in Orange County, we really do have the best of both both worlds.
If you’re looking for a quick & easy day trip that involves a little snow play, our local mountains provide plenty of places to play in the snow for free. But, if you’re looking for a bit of an adventure, check out one of these local “tubing parks.” They are built with family-friendly fun in mind…
Snow Tubing in Southern California
* Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain makes tubing a fun, & easy experience. You don’t have to worry about dragging your tube to the top of the mountain here – instead, take the covered, Magic Carpet to to the top!
A full day of unlimited snow play (10am – 4pm) & inner tube rental costs $25 per person, ages 7+. Children ages 2-6 ride for free with a paying adult (one adult per child at all times). Evening sessions are also available on Friday & Saturday nights from 5pm – 9pm for $15 per person, ages 7+.
Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain is located at 800 Wildrose Lane in Big Bear, California.
* Big Bear Snow Play also offers “covered” Magic Carpet access to their tubing hills. No hiking & climbing involved – which means everyone saves their energy for all the downhill fun!

Big Bear Snow Play is located at 42825 Big Bear Blvd in Big Bear, California.
* Mt. Baldy’s “Monster Tubing Park”offers multiple lanes of tubing fun for the entire family. & With 3 daily, 2-hour sessions (or a full-day option), there are plenty of tubing opportunites.
Ticket prices depend on the size of the rider… for those 42″ & taller, the cost is $15 for a two-hour session, or $20 for an entire day. Children at least 36″ tall, but under 42″ cost $5 for a two-hour session, or $10 for an entire day, but they must ride with an adult. Tube rental is included in the ticket prices, however you do have to purchase a round trip ticket on the Sugar Pine Chair lift which is an additional $20 for anyone 13+, or $10 for childres ages 6-12, children 5 & younger ride for free. Mt. Baldy Ski resort is located at the end of Mt. Baldy Road in Mt. Baldy, California.
* Snow Vally Snow Play offers chair lift serviced sled hills… you can enjoy a scenic chair lift ride up, followed by a thrilling sled ride down.
A full day of unlimited, lift serviced snow play (10am – 4pm) & sled rental costs $31 per person, ages 6+. Children ages 5 & under cost $19, with a paying adult. Late day, lift serviced snow play (3-4pm) costs $16 for all ages.
A full day of unlimited, non-lift serviced snow play (10am – 4pm) & sled rental costs $19 per person, ages 6+. Children ages 5 & under cost $15, with a paying adult. Late day, non-lift serviced snow play (3-4pm) costs $11 for all ages.
Snow Valley is located at 35100 State Highway 18 in Running Springs, California.
Where ever you decide to go, don’t forget to dress for winter weather. It may be warm & sunny in Orange County – but it’s cold up in the mountains. Make sure to wear hats, gloves, snow pants & a jacket. & For optimal comfort, remember to dress in layers, & don’t forget your sunscreen & chapstick!
