2012 Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade

2012 Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade

2012-Newport-Beach-Christmas-Boat-Parade

Starting Wednesday, December 19th, 2012 & going for five consecutive nights, ending Sunday, December 23rd, 2012 is 104th annual Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade.

The Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade Of Lights 2012 is definitely the premier Christmas event (not only
for Orange County & Los Angeles but for all of Southern California) – viewed by over one & half million people each year!

But how can you not flock to Newport Bay to partake in the festivities? The bay literally comes alive with decorations for the boat parade.

Homes, yachts, docks whole landscapes are fully decorated and transformed into a magical holiday experience. Newport Beach begins its holiday decorations after Thanksgiving, and by the first of December the bay is richly illuminated with thousands of lights and hundreds of themed estates. It’s quite the sight!

The parade sets sail from Bay Island each night (Wednesday, December 19th – Sunday, December 23rd, 2012) at 6:30pm & finishes at the same location at approximately 9 pm.

To view the parade route & schedule go HERE. You can also view the parade from almost any place on the shore FREE of cost & all city parking lots will open throughout the parade.

Although, the best way to view the Newport Beach Boat Parade (in my opinion) is one of the Newport Landing “General Admission” Cruises.

Newport Landing provides three “general admission” cruises each night of the parade.. Each of the ships are fully decorated & travel in the parade during each night. (Can’t make it December 19th – December 23rd, 2012? No worries! Newport Landing has holiday cruises every night in December with several times to choose from. View the amazing light displays and many of the ships that are entered in the parade as you travel through the bay).

Along with “general admission” cruises Newport Landing offers private rentals throughout the month (including each night of the parade). Private rentals are perfect for holiday parties, company Christmas parties, and other holiday celebrations.

Another great viewing option is any of the waterfront restaurants (find a list HERE to make reservations).

&, Don’t forgot to check out all the beautifully decorated bay side homes & businesses that surround the harbor. These people tend to “go all out with their own holiday spirit, featuring everything from roof-top animated scenes to dancing Christmas trees”, all in an effort to win a coveted “Ring of Lights” award.
