Shhhh! Don’t tell my hubby, but I have a new man in my life – KYLE. But before you get all crazy… let me explain. Kyle is my new BFF, he is my knight in shining armour, he is my preferred masseuse at the always-fabulous Spa at Pelican Hill, which I recently had the opportunity to experience (how did I get so lucky?). Perched high atop a hill, overlooking the tranquil waters of the Pacific ocean, the Spa at Pelican Hill is an ideal getaway… whether it’s for an hour, or the entire day. & The best part? Located in Orange County, spending the day there takes little to no planning at all – it’s the perfect Mom staycation.
When I arrived at Pelican Hill, I immediately knew that life as I knew it, would forever be changed – at least for the day, that is. Instead of making peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, changing diapers & constantly cleaning up; I found myself relaxing, having adult conversations, surrounded by the luxury of peace & quiet. Not to mention, the staff at the Spa at Pelican Hill have this incredible knack – they think of everything… every whim & need was meet & answered (including a disposable bathing suit!). Surrounded by the glitz & glam of the Spa at Pelican Hill, I felt like I was living the life of a “Real Orange County Housewife.” I relaxed on the masseuse’s table (& let me tell you, Kyle has magical hands, that I’m still dreaming of), lounged in the jacuzzi, & enjoyed lunch poolside with an incredible view of the ocean. & After a just a few short hours, I felt re-energized & ready to re-enter the world of mommy-hood.
So here’s a thought… the next time you’re in need of a little “me” time, or even some “girl’s” time, find a sitter for your kids (or better yet enroll them in the Pelican Hill Kid’s Club), schedule a treatment, make a lunch date ,& just for the day, pretend that you’re one of the “Real Orange County Housewives.”
